FUMANI MALULEKE

THE ARTISTIC JOURNEY

I am a South African contemporary artist whose work explores rural identity, cultural heritage, and everyday life in Limpopo. Following my matriculation, I pursued formal art training at Tshwane TVET North College (TNC), where I studied Art and Graphic Design in 2015.

Limpopo-born artist says he uses traditional Tsonga grass mats to preserve his culture and tell his story. His unique art has taken him from Giyani to global exhibitions in places like Hong Kong and Switzerland.

Rooted in the rhythms of Limpopo, the artist transforms the raw, organic textures of traditional grass mats into a dialogue between heritage and contemporary aesthetics.
